Classes

Our Dance Program

Classes are offered to students beginning at age 2½. Our Early Childhood Program provides a developmentally appropriate dance education for the very young dancer. This program consists of

Toddler Dance (2½ - 3 years old),
Creative Movement I (3 1/2 - 4 years old),
Creative Movement II (4 to 5, Pre-K),
Pre-Ballet (Kindergarten),
and Primary (First Grade).

Level Classes, also known as our Elementary Program, are open to students aged 7 and up and are traditionally structured classes of ballet, jazz, and modern. We also offer tap, modern, and hip hop for students 7 and up, as well as tap for children ages 5-7.

30 minute classes: Toddler Dance, Tap for 5-7 year olds
45 minute classes: Creative Movement I and II, Pre-Ballet & Primary
60 minute classes:Level I, II and III, Modern, Jazz for 8-11 year olds
90 minute classes: Level IV and V

In order to provide quality instruction, our classes are limited to 10-12 students. Placement is at the discretion of the instructor. Students with no previous experience must enroll prior to January 31^st unless joining a newly-created beginner class.

Additional Classes

A selection of our classes are offered in our Summer Session.

Our studio is also home to Tap Classes with Sara Draper and Pilates mat classes.

And, in addition to classes taught at our two studios in the Heights, Claire School of Dance also offers classes at Cathedral House Montessori, Sherwood Forest Montessori, Rice Children's Campus, and Kinkaid.

Registration, Tuition & Payment

Students register for an entire class year, rather than for individual semesters. The fee schedule reflects tuition for the 2010-2011 class year.

There is a $35 registration fee. Parents have two payment options for tuition:

Pay the full year's tuition at the time of registration.

Parents making a one-time payment receive a discount.
Pay the tuition in eight installments, per the payment schedule at the right.

Parents making installments must enroll in our automatic debit program.

We offer sibling discounts. If you wish to enroll multiple children, please call the office.

One month notice required for withdrawal from classes. No withdrawals or refunds after February 1st unless exceptional circumstances apply. Tuition may be refundable under certain circumstances. For more information on this and other issues, please see the policies and procedures page.

Class Calendar

Classes begin September 7, 2010, the day after Labor Day, and end May 14, 2011.

We are closed for the following holidays:

Thanksgiving, November 22^nd - 27^th
Winter Break, December 13^th - January 2^nd
Spring Break, March 14^th - 19^th

Students in Level ballet classes, modern or jazz at Lambert Hall or Grace United will have their Parents Day Demonstration on ~~May 16, 2010~~. Students in the Early Childhood Program, toddler through primary, will have their Parent Day Demonstration in class the last day of class, ~~the week of May 10th~~.
