Summers are magical at the Claire School of Dance!

Now in our 14th year, our summer programs are child-centered, developmentally appropriate, creative, and fun! It is our philosophy to provide not only structured instruction but ample time in a prepared environment for creative free play.

  • Our teachers are experienced professional artists and instructors.
  • We maintain an adult-to-student ratio of 1 adult to 6 or 8 students.
  • All camps are at our Grace United location, 1245 Heights Blvd.
  • Fees include snack and all supplies.
  • We offer a $50 discount when you register your child for multiple camps.
  • Students in  Ooh La! La! Paris! Camp or Fashion Camp or participating in both afternoon and morning camps should bring a sack lunch.

Classes

CLAIREDANCE JANFEB 2014 160The Claire School of Dance offers several programs during the summer. This page is for our 2-month summer session of dance classes. We also have several 1-week summer camp programs.

The 2017 summer classes program runs from June 3 through July 29. Tiny Toes sessions are four weeks long: June 7-28 and July 5-26.There are NO CLASSES Saturday, July 1st, or Tuesday, July 4th.

There is no registration fee for summer classes.

Attire for toddler and CM is a leotard. No tights! No shoes! Dance skirts and tutus are allowed.

Attire for Pre-Ballet and Primary is dress code leotards and skirts, or student’s choice of leotard, and pink ballet slippers. No tights.

Attire for Level I & II is dress code leotards and skirts, or student’s choice of leotard, and pink ballet slippers. Hair should be pulled back.

Placement

  • Tiny Toes (Parent and Me) is for children 18 months to 2 1/2 years.
  • Creative Movement 1 is for children 2½ and 3.
  • Creative Movement 2 classes are for children aged 3½;
  • Creative Movement 3 is for children aged 4.
  • Preballet classes are for children entering kindergarten and
  • Primary is for children entering first or second grade.
  • Level 1 & 2 is for children ages 8 – 10.
  • Our June Summer Intensive is for dance students ages 7 to 12.

Children must be a minimum of 18 months to enroll in summer classes. Parents with questions regarding placement are invited to contact the School office. Final determination of placement is at the teacher’s discretion.

All summer classes meet once a week. Summer Intensives offer a week-long program filled with daily classes.

 Enrollment

Enrollment is limited to 10 – 12 students per class. Classes fill quickly! Early registration is strongly encouraged.

Summer Intensive

Our June 2017 Summer Intensive  is a week-long program of daily dance classes and dance-related activities aimed at students ages 8-12.  The schedule includes daily jazz, modern, and hip hop classes.

Camps

Since 1998, Summer Magic, the camp arm of the Claire School of Dance, has provided programs which are child-centered, developmentally appropriate, creative, educational, and fun! It is our philosophy to provide not only structured instruction but ample time in a prepared environment for creative free play.

  • Students in Ooh La! La! Paris! camp or Camp Anime or participating in both morning and afternoon camps should bring a sack lunch.
  • Students in both morning and afternoon camps benefit from a special discount of $50. Campers in both morning and afternoon camps are also offered a supervised lunch-and-play hour at no extra charge.
